Myron Pyawasit III

SECRETARY

Kno Mekon, also known as Myron Pyawasit Ill, is a traditional singer, cultural leader, and proud member of the Zoar community. Born into a family with strong ceremonial roots, Kno was raised by his parents, Myron and Doris Pyawasit, in the teachings and songs of their people. Music has always been at the heart of his life. He began singing at the age of twelve, nurtured by the guidance and example of his father.

Over the years, Kno's voice and leadership have become widely recognized in Native singing circles. He now leads the Smokeytown Singers, the drum group long guided by his father, continuing a family tradition that has touched generations. For Kno, singing is not only a way to honor his heritage-it's a way to pass on culture, connection, and identity to the next generation. As he walks this path, he looks forward to sharing the same ceremonial teachings with his own son.

Kno lives in Zoar with his wife, Betsy, and their three children-Violet, Vera, and Oliver— along with their loyal dog, Percy. Together, the family enjoys traveling to powwows, taking nature walks, and spending time together for game nights. Kno also finds time for his personal interests, including singing, watching football, and golfing.

Grounded in tradition and family, Kno Mekon continues to serve as a bridge between generations, preserving and sharing the songs that carry the spirit of his people.
