      <image:title>Team Members - Nicole Smith</image:title>
      <image:caption>Nicole Smith serves as the Director of Operations at the Native Organizers Alliance, a national Native organization dedicated to strengthening the organizing capacity of Native communities. In this role, Nicole provides leadership and strategic oversight across a wide scope of the organization’s functions, including operations, advancement, finance, human resources, and fiscal sponsorship. An enrolled member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Tribe, Nicole has a deep-rooted commitment to Indigenous self-determination and community empowerment. She began her journey in grassroots organizing, focusing especially on youth development within her own and surrounding tribal communities. Her work has consistently centered Native voices and values, blending traditional teachings with modern organizational strategies. Nicole earned her Master’s degree in Tribal Administration and Governance from the University of Minnesota, equipping her with the tools to support tribal nations and Native-led organizations in building strong, sustainable infrastructure. Outside of her professional work, Nicole and her family travel throughout Indian Country to attend powwows, where they actively participate in traditional dancing and cultural celebration. Her dedication to community, culture, and organizational excellence makes her a vital part of the Native Organizers Alliance and the broader Native movement.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Team Members - Dr. Brian Jackson</image:title>
      <image:caption>Dr. Brian Jackson, Chi Ayaabe (Big Buck), MS, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health &amp; Equity at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He joined MCW in January 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience working with Native communities and a scholarly focus on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR). His work is grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and guided by the values of the Anishinaabe people. Dr. Jackson earned his B.A. in Youth Development from Concordia University–St. Paul, an M.S. in Indigenous Education, and an Ed.D. in Indigenous Curriculum &amp; Pedagogy from the University of Minnesota. His academic and professional efforts are deeply connected to advancing Indigenous education and restoring Native cultural practices as a pathway to individual and community healing. He serves on the Great Lakes Native American Research Center for Health (GLNARCH) Community Scientific Advisory Committee representing the Bemidji Area, where he advises on research impacting tribal health and well-being. Throughout his career, Dr. Jackson has developed and led programs for Native American students that combine academic success with cultural identity, using storytelling and Indigenous teachings as key tools for development. Dr. Jackson is also a certified Family Circles AODA Prevention Program facilitator. In this role, he supports families in exploring behaviors and building healthier lifestyles through cultural education, self-esteem development, and traditional values. His facilitation includes language instruction, teachings in Anishinaabe history, and cultural practices—all aimed at strengthening Indigenous identity and well-being. With a holistic approach to health, education, and community empowerment, Dr. Jackson continues to advocate for systems change that honors and uplifts Indigenous knowledge in both academic and community settings.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Team Members - Justin Lepscier</image:title>
      <image:caption>Justin Lepcsier is an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, with deep roots in the Menominee Territory where he was born and raised. A dedicated professional and community leader, Justin has built a career at the intersection of finance, education, and public service. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he focused on Leadership and Change, and earned his MBA from the Schneider School of Business at St. Norbert College. His diverse professional background includes roles as a federal contractor with the National Institutes of Health, positions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and as a Mortgage Lender at Bay Bank. He also served as Finance Manager for the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. Currently, Justin is a Lead Institutional Advisor at KeyBank, where he helps manage and grow institutional relationships with a focus on Native communities and values-driven organizations. Justin has also contributed extensively through public service. He has served as a Member and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Wolf River Development Company, on the Menominee Tribal Enterprises Board, as a Board Member for the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation (WisTAF), and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the College of the Menominee Nation. He lives in Shawano, Wisconsin with his wife, Crystal, and their children, Caroline and Jacob. Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending time with his family hunting, fishing, and gathering—activities that reflect his deep connection to Menominee culture and land.</image:caption>
